Job description

Join Our Team as a Property Operations & Maintenance Lead!

We are seeking a skilled, hands-on Property Operations & Maintenance Lead to oversee the care, maintenance, and improvement of a unique 10-acre private residential property in Tsawwassen, BC.

This is a dynamic role for someone who enjoys working independently and has experience in construction, carpentry, property maintenance, equipment operation, and general site improvements. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a lasting impact on a one-of-a-kind property.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform carpentry, framing, and general construction projects.
  • Build and repair fences, gates, sheds, walls, and other structures.
  • Complete general property repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Install shelving, workbenches, storage systems, and other custom fixtures.
  • Assist with landscaping, drainage, trenching, and site improvements.
  • Measure projects, prepare material lists, and purchase building supplies.
  • Safely operate a tractor, power tools, and other equipment.
  • Maintain driveways, pathways, work areas, and storage areas.
  • Complete minor repairs throughout the farmhouse, garage, barns, and outbuildings.
  • Remove debris and maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
  • Purchase, organize, and manage building materials and supplies.
  • Troubleshoot building, property, and equipment problems and recommend practical solutions.
  • Monitor the farmhouse, barns, garage, and outbuildings for maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate and oversee specialized contractors when required.
  • Provide regular updates and progress reports to the property owner.
  • Maintain project records, receipts, and material lists.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
  • Take responsibility for protecting the property, tools, and equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, carpentry, property maintenance, or a related field.
  • Strong carpentry and framing skills.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
  • Experience with fencing, drainage, landscaping, or general site work.
  • Ability to safely operate a tractor (or willingness to learn).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physically capable of performing outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Trustworthy, dependable, and respectful of private property.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence and reliable transportation are required.
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures when operating tools and equipment.

Preferred Experience

We especially encourage applications from candidates with experience as: Carpenter or Framer / Renovation Contractor / Construction Foreman / Property Maintenance Professional / Skilled Handyman / Small Construction Business Owner / Tradesperson seeking a stable, long-term position

Starting Date: September 2026

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year, negotiable depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday (occasional flexibility required)

Location: Tsawwassen, BC
