We have an exciting temp-to-hire opportunity for a highly skilled Forklift Operator in Port Colborne. This role is perfect for a dedicated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about maintaining efficiency within a dynamic warehouse setting. Operating a counterbalance forklift is at the heart of this position, requiring precision, safety consciousness, and a strong understanding of industrial operations. As a vital part of the manufacturing & logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring that goods are moved accurately and securely throughout the facility.

Responsibilities
• Safely operating a counterbalance forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise
• Executing comprehensive inventory management utilizing RF scanners to track product movement
• Generating and printing barcodes to ensure accurate labeling and tracking of warehouse materials
• Handling receiving duties by unloading inbound shipments and verifying inventory accuracy
• Performing shipping tasks by preparing, staging, and loading outbound products safely
• Completing efficient order picking to fulfill daily quotas and prepare items for distribution
• Conducting thorough pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections on all forklift equipment
• Navigating the manufacturing & logistics floor safely while being mindful of pedestrian traffic
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace in accordance with safety standards


Qualifications
• Proven proficiency in safely operating and maneuvering a counterbalance forklift
• Strong technical ability using RF scanners and computerized inventory management systems
• Excellent spatial awareness and precision when handling heavy or awkward loads
• High level of attention to detail for barcode printing, order picking, and inventory verification
• Solid understanding of standard receiving and shipping protocols in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional safety consciousness and knowledge of manufacturing & logistics safety regulations
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet daily operational deadlines
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity to support manual material handling when necessary
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and logistics supervisors
• Valid and current counterbalance forklift certification or license
• Demonstrable previous experience working as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse setting
• Prior experience utilizing RF scanners for order picking and inventory management
• Ability to comfortably lift, push, pull, and maneuver heavy materials as required by the role
• Solid understanding of manufacturing & logistics operations, including shipping and receiving
• Proven track record of punctuality, reliability, and strong professional work ethic
• Commitment to upholding strict occupational health and safety guidelines at all times
• Comfortable working in a physically demanding and fast-paced industrial environment
• Must be equipped with CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots and necessary PPE
