Business Development Manager - Vancouver

As Business Development Manager, Broker and Travel Advisors Channels in Vancouver Canada you will work with assigned accounts to manage day-to-day activities, growth revenue, and ensure profitability in the broker channel for our west-coat clients. Proactively identify opportunities for growth and work with internal and external stakeholders to drive growth initiatives. Drive additional revenue growth by identifying other new business opportunities.

Way of Working: Remote role based in mainland Vancouver, Canada, with travel required for client meetings and business development. Preference will be given to candidates who currently reside in mainland Vancouver

What you will do

  • Manage assigned accounts within the Travel & Broker channels:
    • Deliver best‑in‑class service to partner accounts, ensuring timely, high‑quality support.
    • Lead regular partner check‑ins and performance reviews.
    • Build strong relationships and maintain a deep understanding of partner needs.
    • Coordinate partner visits and training sessions, both onsite and remote.
    • Manage partner renewals and track performance against targets.
    • Collaborate with internal teams (finance, compliance, licensing, L&D) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Grow assigned accounts:
    • Work with partners to identify opportunities for additional revenue.
    • Build business cases to prioritize and implement new revenue generating opportunities.
    • Identify other upsell and cross-sell opportunities related to partners’ business.
  • Grow new business:
    • Attend industry events and track market trends to identify new business opportunities.
    • Maintain pipeline of new business opportunities
    • Nurture and develop leads that fit with existing book of partners.

  • Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data analytics, and cloud‑based tools, using insights responsibly and in alignment with our standards for data governance, security, and ethical use.

What you will Bring

  • College diploma/degree (or equivalent) with background in business, sales, or marketing.
  • 5+ years of sales account or client management experience (insurance industry preferred).
  • Strong understanding of industry trends, client needs, and business development.
  • Experience with modern client management, sales and business development strategies, with a track record of achieving goals.
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively, build consensus, and manage diverse relationships.
  • Demonstrated success in generating new business and driving client retention and growth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all levels.
  • Self‑starter with strong ownership and a drive to improve processes.
  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) is an asset.
  • Proficient with MS Teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Extensive travel required.

What we offer

Annualized base pay range is $65,286 - $95,780 CAD

Actual base pay may vary based upon factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity of peers, and geographic location. Employees may also qualify for performance-based bonuses, merit increases, and other incentives based on individual and company performance. The availability and amount of these additional compensation elements are determined by company policy and may vary.
