Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered up with Restaurants Canada on their search for a Manager, Business Development to join their team in Toronto, Ontario.

This role will be pivotal in identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with potential clients, and creating strategies to increase revenue and market share.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and negotiation skills, a comprehensive understanding of the business development landscape, and the ability to generate innovative solutions to meet the needs of our clients.

Your Responsibilities :

Business Development

  • Work with the Chief Operating Officer to create and manage an overall strategy and sales plan to drive revenue across the show floor, events, media, partnerships, membership and sponsorship.
  • Develop and execute the business development plan to generate incremental revenue.
  • Formulate the business development strategy, aligning it with the overall organizational strategy.
  • Coordinate with our external sponsorship team to develop an overall strategy to meet revenue goals
  • Identify, evaluate, and execute new business opportunities aligned with the company's overall strategy.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand the company's strengths and value proposition to develop sales strategies that result in sustainable and profitable growth.
  • Consistently track and provide periodic updates on the progress of business development initiatives against the set strategic objectives.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements related to the marketing of products and services.
  • Take accountability for daily customer relations management.
  • Promote corporate image and act as the brand ambassador for the company.
  • Ensure consistent customer satisfaction based on a deep understanding of customer needs.
  • Together with our external sponsorship team, develop strategies for lead generation, monitoring, and conversion, including reports showing lead generation success and failure rates.
  • Together with our external sponsorship team, develop strategies for breaking into new and existing markets.
  • Leverage emerging trends to find business development opportunities.
  • Develop strategic partnerships to create revenue generation opportunities for the company's products and services.
  • Research customer needs and trends to inform business and product development strategies.
  • Proactively build positive relationships inside and outside the organization to support the company strategy and vision.
  • Develop seamless processes to support the business development value chain.
  • Set and implement high standards for customer satisfaction and service delivery.

Event Sponsorship and Media Sales

  • Develop prospect lists with key contacts and align internally to determine the best approach and strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Content to Enhance RC's offers and meet partnership / sponsorships deliverables.
  • Support event planning and sponsorship sales for RC signature events.
  • Outreach to strategic brand partners for face-to-face meetings to share Restaurant Canada’s new vision / theme for the Show and promotional campaign, and attain client goals and objectives.
  • Customize programs based on goals and budget.
  • Direct selling to increase exhibitor sales and upsell existing participants. Bundle sell RC properties and transition sponsors into Corporate Partners.
  • Provide ongoing client support to ensure delivery of the program and upsell where possible.
  • Incorporate marketing and PR integration to support sponsors pre, during, and post-event.
  • Collaboratively work with internal and external teams on Event Planning Sponsorship and Media Activation
  • Outreach to potential contra partners to support and enhance RC Show and Restaurants Canada’s advocacy and program efforts.
  • Manage and integrate media to support show floor categories and exhibitor and sponsor activations.
  • Liaise and assist operations team with deliverables to execute based on sponsor expectations.
  • Assist in implementing onsite promotions or contests to support driving engagement to show floor areas and events.
  • Create reports and post-show touch points to share with sponsors to show the value of their sponsorship / partnership and deliverables and to obtain client feedback.

Your Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Proven business development, sales, or marketing experience.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
