Job description

MatchBox Consulting Group is partnering with a client to hire a Procurement Manager for their Richmond plant. This is a full-time, on-site role (5 days/week) reporting to the Procurement Director, and will play a key role in driving procurement strategy and supplier performance at the local level.

The Role
You will be responsible for executing procurement strategies in alignment with North American category leadership, while managing the day-to-day sourcing and procurement of goods and services. This includes leading supplier negotiations, overseeing contract implementation, and ensuring alignment with corporate standards. You’ll also work closely with internal stakeholders to optimize spend, improve processes, and support overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute procurement and category strategies at the plant level
  • Manage sourcing, negotiations, and supplier relationships
  • Oversee contract implementation and ensure compliance
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement
  • Partner with internal teams to align procurement with business needs
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement (category management, sourcing, operations)
  • Exposure to supply chain management and strategic sourcing within an industrial environment
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly proactive, organized, and able to manage competing priorities

Nice to Have

  • Experience in plant-based or heavy industrial sectors (cement, steel, mining, etc.)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operations-driven environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $120,000 – $135,000 plus bonus
  • Full benefits package
  • RRSP program
  • 3 weeks vacation
