Company's services customers in a variety of markets, including Ports and Terminals, Industrial (Metals, Paper, Chemical, Mining), General Industry (Automotive, Manufacturing), Utility (Power Plants, Water and Wastewater), Marine, Oil and Gas, Mining, and others. Some of our customers operate in remote locations, so periodic travel may be required.

Responsibilities


The Electrical Estimator is key to the Electrical Solutions team and will be responsible for reviewing, estimating, and preparing electrical quotes and proposals, and identifying ways to continually improve cost estimating procedures. Duties include but are not limited to:



  • Review and interpret tender specifications and drawings to define scope/contents of the estimates

  • Review and analyze bid packages from subcontractors

  • Produce all costs for tender submission – material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor(s) using estimating software to develop accurate quotation

  • Accountable for analyzing each section for scope, pricing and clarifications

  • Maintain large working files as supporting documentation for estimating figures including current, accurate information on prices from venders through exclusive contact, pre-existing price lists, etc.

  • Develop innovative ideas to maximize cost savings and increase competitiveness

  • Proactively manage and incorporate scope changes

  • Assists with pre-qualifications, RFQ’s, RFI submissions as required

  • Attend site visits periodically

  • Participate in closing the bid, including bid meetings, etc.




Requirements

Qualifications


If you are the ideal candidate, you are a highly detail-oriented individual who demonstrates outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills. You function well in a fast-paced environment and take pride in being meticulous and thorough. The following are requirements needed to be successful in this role:



  • Completion of postsecondary electrician training program

  • Valid electricians license

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant industrial electrical estimating experience

  • In-depth understanding of the BC Electrical Safety Code

  • Strong computer skills with estimation software, experience with Accubid is an asset

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

Types of Projects You’ll Estimate


While the company does execute large-scale installation projects, particularly in bulk material handling, the majority of estimates focus on advanced automation and retrofit solutions, including:



  • Supply and install projects involving Radar, LiDAR, vision systems, and process control technologies

  • Greenfield and brownfield VFD, MCC, and motor control retrofits

  • Control system upgrades and retrofits of obsolete equipment

  • Projects requiring short turnaround times to minimize client downtime

Managing multiple proposals efficiently while supporting customer uptime and operational continuity is a critical aspect of this role.
