In this position, you’ll be at the forefront of evaluating opportunities, optimizing project performance, and driving impactful financial strategies that support our mission to build a sustainable future.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Corporate & Business Development SupportFinancial Model Development & Analysis : Build and manage complex financial models from scratch, ensuring comprehensive sensitivity analysis to support project financing, refinancing, and acquisition decisions.Strategic Presentation Support : Assist in crafting polished presentations, proposals, and reports that equip senior management with the tools to engage stakeholders and secure investment opportunities.Opportunity Evaluation : Conduct rigorous economic and financial assessments of potential acquisitions, collaborating on third-party models to shape successful bids and investment strategies.Due Diligence : Coordinate due diligence processes across functional areas, ensuring seamless communication and thorough analysis for financing or acquisition transactions.Market Research & Analysis : Track and distill industry trends, identify competitive threats, and contribute to policy research and strategy development.Project FinanceEquity Fund Partnership Development : Work closely with the President & CEO and external advisors to assemble and execute the development of an infrastructure partnership to programmatically invest in developed energy projects.Debt Financing Program : Work closely with the President & CEO and external advisors to assemble a syndicate of debt financing partners to programmatically finance the project portfolio.Tax Credit Optimization : work with external subject matter experts to maximize monetization of, and risk mitigation of, tax credits.Transaction Execution : Support structuring and execution of financing / refinancing agreements, including liaising with lenders and negotiating terms that align with project goals.Financial Planning, Analysis, and OversightBudgeting : Take ownership for the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.Analysis : Assess the performance of lines of business and prepare ad hoc management and board reporting.Accounting Oversight : Oversight of, and primary point of contact for, GRE’s external accounting and payroll service providers. Point of contact for GRE’s auditors.Corporate Financial ReportingQuarterly & Annual Reporting : Coordinate preparation of financial reports for GRE and its project companies.REQUIREMENTS : Post-secondary degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or other relevant discipline3-5 years’ experience in financial modeling and project finance ideally within the renewable energy sector with capital projects and infrastructureDemonstrated technical and analytical capabilities including proven financial analysis and financial modelling skills (applied to infrastructure and / or energy projects)Strong communication, presentation and writing skills, including the ability to understand and effectively summarize and explain models and data in a clear and concise mannerStrong due diligence, analytical and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneouslyAdvanced proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPointWORK LOCATIONYou will be based out of our Kitchener head office.
