We are currently hiring for two (2) Operations Technologists - Engineering Approvals. There is one (1) regular opportunity and one (1) term opportunity (for a period of approximately 6-12 months), in the Engineering &

Capital Infrastructure Department, both have full time hours.What the Engineering Approvals Team is responsible for : Connections to, and extensions of, the Halifax Water Systems, through : Water permit applicationsSubdivision ApplicationsTender ReviewsAs well as : Creation of Capital Cost ContributionsCollection of Regional Development ChargesAdministration of the Cross-Connection Control ProgramAs an Operations Technologist, you will : Inspect the installation of Service Connections and appurtenances attaching to the Halifax Water SystemsAudit the installation of water, wastewater and stormwater main extensions and appurtenances attaching to the Halifax Water SystemsCollect, produce, and retrieve record informationTo do this job, you need to have : Five (5) years of experience in the municipal engineering field.

Post-secondary diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation.Valid driver's license.
