Scrum Master
Contract - 6 month extendable
Location - Greater Toronto Area
Hybrid - 3 days per week in office
Key Responsibilities
- Guide the team to embrace Agile values and principles, applying the most suitable Agile frameworks and techniques while fostering a self-organizing environment.
- Educate and coach the team and the broader organization on Agile methodologies and software engineering practices.
- Support and mentor Product Owners, particularly in refining and managing a product backlog.
- Promote transparent and open communication both within and outside the team, ensuring visibility into team activities.
- Gather, communicate, and propose metrics that foster a culture of empirical improvement.
- Optimize cohesive change across the assigned technology platform, embedding quality throughout the delivery lifecycle and addressing defects at the earliest stage.
- Conduct gap analyses on the technology platform's capabilities, tools, and establish a roadmap for enhancement.
- Assist in value stream mapping led by the Agile Delivery Lead.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of Agile values and principles.
- Broad familiarity with a variety of Agile frameworks.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry.
- Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to motivate individuals and teams toward continuous improvement.
- Expertise in widely recognized Agile practices and software development techniques, including Test Automation, Continuous Integration, Pair Programming, DevOps, Refactoring, ATDD / TDD / BDD, Extreme Programming (XP), and Value Stream Mapping.
- Self-motivated with a drive to learn and explore new concepts.
Qualifications : Professional Certification (at least PSM1 or similar)
