Joe Johnson Equipment is looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Technician to join our team. As the successful candidate you will be responsible for troubleshooting and performing repairs and installs on a variety of heavy equipment such as hydro-vac trucks, street sweepers, refuse trucks, and various landscaping equipment.
This role is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, NO WEEKENDS - day shift.
What you will do :
- Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDIs (pre-delivery inspections) on a variety of heavy equipment represented by Joe Johnson Equipment
- Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
- Communicate with Lead Hand and / or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
- Maintain organized and safe work area and shop tools
Must haves :
- Licensed Heavy Equipment (421A) or Truck & Coach Technician (310T), preferred
- 2+ years’ experience as a Licensed Mechanic
- Valid Driver’s License with Clean Abstract
- Experience with hydraulic and / or electrical work

Safety Duties & Responsibilities :
- Work in compliance with the appropriate safety legislation / regulations / safety policies
- Report any known workplace hazard or safety violations
- Cooperate with their workplace’s Safety Committee or health and safety representative
- Use any safety equipment, protective devices or clothing required
- Not remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the Company or by the regulations.
