Job Description
Altitude is seeking a Strength and Conditioning Coach for our state-of-the-art facility in Toronto. Coaches are expected to have a detailed understanding of training practices, exercise physiology, program design, fitness assessments, and implementation of private / group sessions.
An ideal candidate will have experience in the field of strength and conditioning, preferably with athletes from numerous sport disciplines including general population, endurance and speed / power-based sports.
Coaches will be required to interpret data on heart rate, VO2 max, FTP testing, Wingate testing, movement screening, and mobility assessments;
experience in implementing and interpreting data from such measures is considered an asset.
Altitude values the customer experience and strives to provide the highest standards of customer service and results execution.
Prospecting and sales is also a key part of this role with the expectation of lead conversions and closing new business in all service categories offered.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication, sales and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt and interact with multiple different clients and personality types.

Responsibilities
Run client assessments and consultations
- Provide initial and ongoing consultations to new, current and prospective clients
- Perform tests such as mobility, PUSH and VO2 Max tests (PNOE)
- Collect and interpret client assessment data
- Communicate assessment results and conclusions in an accessible way to clients
Supervise the gym floor
- Provide technique coaching for clients who may have questions about a self-led program
- Assist clients with equipment, wearables and training app as needed
- Ensure the safety of all members in general areas
- Ensure the gym space is clean and organized
- Perform regular checks to ensure fitness equipment is in good working order
Personal Training
- Program design
- Mechanical and data analysis

Member Coaching
- Programming and implementation
- Run Weekly Client Coach Consults to evaluate client progress and make program modifications as necessary
Lead small group classes
- Design, modify, and lead safe and effective classes including bike, run and circuit based classes
- Provide appropriate exercises to meet the needs of the participants
- Have circuits or other training designs set up before clients arrive
- Interact with class participants in a motivational and encouraging way
Sales and Prospecting
- Meet and interact directly with current and prospective Altitude Athletic Training clients to relay to them the program’s value and benefits while also sourcing feedback and assessing their reception and experience with the product
- Develop strong, ongoing relationships with customers and nurture / follow up with prospective clients
- Sell the appropriate Altitude Athletic Training products and services to prospective clients and be able to explain the benefits behind training and how we can help them

Recommended certifications or accreditations :
- CPR / First Aid
- Completed University Degree, Kinesiology (BSc preferred)
- NSCA CSCS
- CSEP CPT
