Private Care RPN Part-time

We are looking for a Registered Practical Nurse!

Shifts are primarily weekdays from 1 : 00 p.m to 6 p.m. (4 days a week) with occasional weekends and night shifts as needed.

Overview

Your mission is to provide safe, patient-centered care with a focus on excellence. You prioritize meeting the needs of the client and supporting him with his Activities of Daily Living.

You are expected to be flexible and willing to accept schedule changes based on the client’s schedule. You are expected to perform your duties as a nurse with the emphasis of blending into the client’s environment.

As the primary nurse, your main objective is to ensure the safety of the client.

As an RPN, your daily responsibilities will be :

• Providing nursing care within the scope of the RPN practice
• Using sound nursing principles to ensure excellent care is delivered to the client
• Using knowledge of Proper Body Mechanics to assist client to prevent falls.
• Administering oral medications
• Creating a safe and comfortable environment that respects residents’ privacy, dignity, autonomy, independence and personal values and lifestyle
• Participating in care planning and support family to meet their goals by adhering to the care plan
• Exercising sound judgement
• Collaborating with all stakeholders to foster an atmosphere conducive to optimal care per physicians’ orders while adhering to confidentiality standards and professional boundaries at all times
• Continuously observes and assesses patient condition and care needs and reports changes in condition to client’s spouse and / or physician as appropriate
• Documents all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses and coordination of care in a timely manner whenever care is delivered
• Takes appropriate nursing action based on assessment and achieves expected outcomes
• Recognizes changes in patient needs and responses requiring intervention and implements care to prevent risk or reduce risk

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the Province of Ontario
• Current First Aid with CPR
• G2 driver's license, personal vehicle asset.
• Valid Passport
