Senior HR Business Partner, The Mobile Shop

The Senior HR Business Partner works with The Mobile Shop leaders and their teams directly to define and implement people strategies that are aligned with business plans, company culture and values.

The incumbent provides leadership and generalist expertise across the functional areas of HR (employee engagement, talent management, compliance, employee relations, total rewards, leadership development, etc.

to enable business results.

The Senior HR Business Partner will oversee the TMS HR team and lead all programs and people initiatives at a national level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Aligning the people strategy and associated initiatives to The Mobile Shop business strategy
  • Lead the delivery and deployment of HR programs and processes (Performance Management, Compensation, Engagement Survey and the Performance Review Cycle)
  • Provide guidance, direction and advice to The Mobile Shop Store Managers and Mobilists regarding employment related issues including but not limited to the interpretation of company policies & procedures, performance management, investigations, terminations, strategic planning, development and retention
  • Recognize barriers to success and facilitate proactive dispute resolution that supports a performance driven culture. Uses judgment supported by human resource acumen and practical experience to escalate matters as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement & best practices to influence human resources strategies
  • Oversee, coach, mentor and guide the high performance of the TMS HR team
  • Drive efficiencies and effectiveness of the team and seek opportunities to improve operational effectiveness across the business
  • Manage escalations and 2nd point of contact for all Employee Relations matters
  • Ensure that the interests of colleagues and company are considered in accordance with HR policies and applicable government laws and regulations i.

e. : ESA, Human Rights Code

  • Provide coaching & support management on leadership development, talent and performance management, change and people management issues & communication
  • Day to day partner with The Mobile Shop, trusted confidant and employee advocate

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Equivalent combination of education and human resources experience; achievement of CHRP designation or post-graduate degree preferred
  • 7-10 years of progressive HR experience with demonstrated knowledge in performance management, employee relations and the delivery of HR programs
  • Strong knowledge of Employee Relations and investigations
  • Proficient understanding of Canadian employment law
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience managing high performing teams
  • Experience in a high volume retail environment
  • Ability to interact with all levels with comprehensive consultative, partnering, facilitating, and influencing / negotiating skills
  • Ability to interpret conceptual or loosely defined business or project objectives and assess impact on HR
  • Strong integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective project management
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid computer skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint required. SalesForce an asset
  • Strong analytic skills and superior ability to problem-solve
  • Exceptional commitment to customer service with strong sense of urgency
  • Highly motivated to work in a dynamic and fast paced team environment, self-starter, requiring little direction; Motivated
  • Weekend and evening work as required
