Job Description
We are looking for a senior IT specialist to join our managed service provider (MSP) company, 256 Solutions. You will be responsible for working with a team of other IT technicians who oversee the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various IT systems and solutions for our clients.
You will also be involved in developing and implementing best practices, policies, and procedures for IT service delivery and customer satisfaction.
A typical day at 256 Solutions may involve working with customers on the phone to resolve issues using remote assistance tools, working on a customer site deploying new hardware or software, troubleshooting issues both onsite and remotely.
Because of the variable nature of how we work, the successful applicant must possess a valid license and insurance and have continuous access to their own vehicle.
Mileage reimbursement will be made for all business travel.
Job Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in IT support or network management and administration
- Experience with Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization technologies
- Certification in CompTIA A+ or similar
- Certification in CompTIANetwork+, CCNA, CCNP, or Fortinet NSE4 or higher OR
- Certification in CompTIA Server+, Security+ or Cloud+
- Experience with network design, configuration, security, and monitoring
- Experience with Office 365 deployments and management
- Knowledge of Crowdstrike Falcon, SentinelOne, or similar endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively on the phone, in person, and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Valid G license, insurance, and reliable access to an automobile
Additional Beneficial Skills
- Knowledge of working with APIs to read and write data from applications
- Experience with VoIP, session border controllers (SBC), and other telecommunication systems
- Experience working with APIs to read and write data between systems
Educational Requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- College Diploma or University Degree or related work experience
