Transportation Design Engineer

Job Requirements

The following requirements / qualifications are required at a minimum to be considered for this position :

• Bachelor’s Degree (Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Applied Science) in Civil or Transportation Engineering
• Five years’ experience in the field of transportation
• Registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) is considered an asset
• Working knowledge and experience utilizing traffic engineering software such as : Highway Capacity Software, Synchro, SimTraffic, Vissim, EMME, and Visum are assets
• Working knowledge and experience utilizing drafting and design software such as : AutoCAD, Civil3D, and AutoTURN
• Applied skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data management systems such as Microsoft Access or SQL is considered an asset
• Experience in cost estimating, contract document preparation, contract administration, and construction inspection is considered an asset
• Experience on projects specifically with the Ministry of Transportation Ontario is considered an asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
• MTO Experience would be an asset
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Skilled at analyzing and solving problems with and without supervision
• Fosters a positive attitude with commitment to working as part of a team
• Class G License and full-time access to your own vehicle
