Our client is a leading consulting Engineering firm known for its excellence in project delivery across North America. This firm focuses specifically on institutional, healthcare, commercial and mixed-use projects and they are looking for a capable individual who is looking to continue developing their career as a dynamic engineer in the buildings engineering consulting sector.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to one of the principals, the role will have a broad focus encompassing design, technical work, client liaison and project management
Key Responsibilities include :
- Problem Solving and project planning
- Apply knowledge of mechanical systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards applied to design work, so as to be able to support the various teams
- Nurture and maintain strong relationships with team members and stakeholders in the industry
- Work with the design and technical success of building HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems.
- Assist with determining the scope and fees for proposed engineering services alongside the principal(s)
- Site visits, some basic CA tasks
- Develop in project management / project lead over time
The minimum qualifications for this position are :
- Mechanical EIT
- Mechanical Designers will also be considered provided they have the right project experience
- 2+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering - must have worked with commercial, public or mixed-use / residential projects in Canada
- Solid knowledge and application of the mechanical and / or plumbing requirements per building codes, energy codes, and other related standards
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Good client and project management skills
- Takes initiative, motivated attitude
- Revit Experience
- LEED® Accredited Professional is preferred but not essential
