Job purpose :
The Social Content Creator will work with the copywriter, project manager and creative teams to create effective and compelling content that brings brand messaging to life across multiple media channels.
They need to have strong technical skills and be comfortable shooting and editing.
The Social Content Creator is passionate and optimistic about doing great things but is grounded and experienced enough to push through challenges.
They will bring recommendations for creative and process to the teams to further develop this new role within the greater team.
Duties and responsibilities :
- Produce diverse digital assets for brands, enhancing engagement and brand visibility
- Capture and edit social media content, elevating brand presence across platforms
- Art direct social campaigns, driving creative strategy and visual consistency
- Plan and execute video production and completion
- Work with freelance crew, external vendors and / or internal resources
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the production of high quality work
- Pitch and contribute ideas and concepts
- Stay up-to-date (and ahead!) on new social media tools, trends and best practices; monitor competitors and other social media leaders to see how they are using technologies to create unique, relevant content for their audiences
- Assist in any other relevant tasks related to video content
- Maintain camera and lighting equipment
- Helping develop our content offerings in 456
- Report status to VP, Director of studio production, day to day check-ins & creative oversight occur with the senior on the team
- Adherence to company processes including Health & Safety
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
- University or college degree in video or film production, visual communication, new media or equivalent work
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and Lightroom)
- Proficiency in HTML tools including Flexitive and Creatopy to create compelling visual content
- Experience using photo and video hardware and software, including DSLR cameras, mobile phones, lenses, editing systems, lighting and sound-recording
- 2+ years content production, from storyboarding to filming, editing to post-production
- Portfolio that demonstrates a range of experience in photo and video production and visual problem-solving, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, results-driven environment
- Proven experience working with social networks and platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube
- Experience with retail clients an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of digital videography and photography , advanced photographic and video techniques and professional quality standards
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and fast paced environments
- Ability to work with speed and efficiency
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and the ability to work independently under the creative direction of others
- Passionate about every piece of communication
- Gracefully consider inputs and opinions about their work
- A love of all things DIY
