About the Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to work for one of our firm's partners. A working knowledge of litigation is required, knowledge of solicitor's work is beneficial as the partner practices both litigation and solicitor's work, generally on behalf of municipalities.
You will work directly with the partner.
Skill Required
- A minimum of three (3) or more years of experience as legal assistant;
- Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma from an accredited institution or equivalent experience;
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word / Outlook / Excel / PowerPoint) ;
- Working knowledge of court forms, court processes and procedures and the Rules of Civil Procedure;
- Time management and communication skills;
- Independent worker.
Duties Include
- Organizing, diarizing, and billing files from opening to closing;
- Preparing, drafting and proofreading correspondence, documents and pleadings, including dicta reporting;
- Organizing and assembling materials for both Court and tribunal work;
- Communicating with our clients, other lawyers and other in the legal process.
