JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Responsible for brewing and brewing maintenance operations by providing specialized technical expertise
  • Accountable for leading improvement initiatives related to Brewing departmental Key Performance Indicators to ensure that targets are met
  • Identify and implement opportunities as dictated by process data to improve productivity, reduce cost, or improve quality
  • Conduct and assist in quality testing and assessments to ensure compliance with standards
  • Ability to understand financial drivers for assigned area and initiate processes to control costs
  • Provide guidance and support to the brewery network, brewing personnel and department heads
  • Provide creative troubleshooting / problem solving ideas to assist with brewery issues and develop new processes
  • Provide specialized technical support to assure Consumer quality expectations are met (beer freshness indicators, consumer complaint reduction, packaging quality, etc.)
  • Recommend opportunities for process optimization using root cause analysis tools
  • Monitor supplier raw technical performance and material loss
  • Support the engineering group in Capital projects related to the department

JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science is required
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial setting
  • Associate Membership Exam from the Institute and Guild of Brewing (or equivalent) is an asset
  • Strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills and team orientation
  • Strong computer skills
  • Technical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to extract, evaluate and utilize data for process improvement from applicable systems
  • Results oriented with ability to provide strategic direction
  • Understanding of the complete brewing process with state of the art knowledge of specific areas of expertise
  • Strong knowledge of quality, environment and safety standards and regulations
  • Industrial relations experience in a unionized environment considered an asset
