Job Description

Department : Pathology Research Program

Reports to : Senior Manager - Anatomic Pathology

Work Model : On-site

Grade : B7

Hours : hours per week

Salary : $ - $ per hour

Shifts : Monday to Friday

Status : Permanent Full Time

Closing Date : July 13, 2024

Position Summary

Working under the direction of the operational supervisor / manager, the incumbent will perform pathology testing for research purposes according to established procedures.

These include are not limited to :

  • Tissue processing, embedding & microtomy of clinical / animal tissue
  • Perform routine and specialized staining histological staining
  • Perform routine and specialized immunohistochemical staining
  • Develop and optimize new antibodies for research purposes
  • Perform in-situ hybridization

Duties

Other duties may include but are not limited to :

  • Liaise with research & client services to ensure delivery of services
  • provides input on workflow optimization
  • provides insight on major equipment purchases
  • documenting results according to established procedures
  • maintaining laboratory and laboratory equipment

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required, CMLTO certified Medical Laboratory Technologist preferred
  • 6 years of recent histopathology research / clinical experience required
