Senior RACF Engineer - Remote - Contract

Our client operates across Canada. This company takes all reasonable measures to limit the number of positions in Quebec that require knowledge of a language other than French and only requires this where it is necessary, and its existing bilingual employees are unable to fulfill these job duties.

It has been determined that this position requires candidates to be fluent in English (oral and written). In particular, this position will require the employee to :

• Collaborate and provide support to other colleagues and business functions located outside of Quebec who do not speak French.
• Communicate regularly with English-speaking employees located outside Quebec.

Responsibilities

The Senior RACF Engineer will be responsible for the design and execution of projects related to the RACF security function.

The ideal candidate should have advanced knowledge of RACF, ZSecure, and Mainframe infrastructure, and will work closely with other infrastructure teams (CICS, Systems Programming, Db2, etc.

and business-supporting technologists. Responsibilities include providing security guidance, engineering solutions, and coaching team members.

Periodic on-call support and maintenance outside of normal working hours are required to address security issues.

Qualifications

Must-Have Skills :

7-15 years of experience as a RACF Engineer or Administrator

Advanced experience with IBM RACF and IBM-ZSecure configuration / internals

Programming skills in JCL, REXX, and CarLa

Familiarity with z / OS utilities (TSO, ISPF, SDSF)

Knowledge of database technology (Sybase, DB2, SQL)

Understanding of zOS installations (Systems Programming, Storage, Networks, Unix Services, CICS, DB2)

Ability to work independently, manage projects, and multi-task

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)

Strong communication skills and team player attitude

Nice-to-Have Skills :

Experience with CA / Broadcom Top Secret Security

Knowledge of distributed technology (UNIX, USS file systems)

Experience with Systems Programming, Mainframe Network engineering, Middleware (e.g., MQ Series)

Knowledge of PERL, shell scripting, OpenSSL, SSH
