About the opportunity
Reporting to the Director, PEP and Prep Examinations, the Manager, PEP and Prep Examinations is to lead all exam Coordinator staff and functions for the PEP and Prep exams offered in French and English.
This role is responsible for overseeing and delegating work to ensure that all deadlines are met, and results are complete and reliable, the Question bank is maintained, and that contractors are hired and managed, as well as ensuring the content of the PEP and Prep is delivered according to the specifications outlined by the profession.
The Manager and their direct reports may also provide support to the Common Final Examination (CFE) team as necessary during the 2 months of marking centers for the May and September CFE’s.
This hybrid role is aligned to our Toronto office, and requires flexibility for weekend / after hour work during exam periods.
The targeted annual salary range for this position is $92,000 to $115,000 and is commensurate with experience.
What you'll do
In this role, you will :
- Manage projects and issues as they arise involving both internal and external business units including external technology providers.
- Lead the internal and external business units through version upgrades with our examination software and overseeing and managing user access on our examination software site.
- Lead various internal and external stakeholders through end-to-end user testing
- Oversee and lead a productive and efficient team through staff development and providing feedback to all members of the team.
- Educate and update exam coordinator staff on all aspects of our software systems used for examinations and the integration between each software, while ensuring efficient productivity of the day-to-day operations of the team.
- Collaborate and collectively oversee the entire coordinator team, set and plan timelines for the year while taking into consideration resourcing with the manager of the Common Final Examination (CFE).
- Monitor and review CFE practices to stay informed of any changes, while also ensuring the CFE team stays informed and trained on PEP and Prep functions so the entire coordinator team can operate and function properly for all exams under precertification.
- Oversee the marker management system across all the examinations, while providing continuous training of exam coordinator staff as well as regional bodies with any improved process changes.
- Collaborate with professional staff, regional staff, printing department and exam coordinator to make certain their schedules and the processes in place can meet deadlines for exam delivery and exam marking.
What we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have the following :
- A minimum of 3+ years of management and supervisory experience in leading, managing and motivating staff
- Post-secondary degree, with a certificate in adult education would be strongly preferred
- Previous experience in education development, teaching or marking
- Project Management experience in creating workflows and projects with multiple stakeholders
- Proficient knowledge and working experience with Sharepoint and D2L or alternative online learning platforms
- Advanced knowledge and experience using Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
- Expertise in troubleshooting problems as they arise with software, finding workarounds while working with vendors to address urgent fixes
- Exceptional attention to detail, with experience in proofing and editing
- Ability to be highly organized, deadline driven, and to work in a fast paced and at times, high pressure environment
- Superior verbal and written skills with an emphasis on clear, concise and effective communication
- Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset
