Title : Stack Test Engineering Co-op
Ballard Power Systems Is looking for two (2) co-op students (8 months) to assist in fuel cell test engineering activities associated with the development of fuel cell stacks for current fuel cell designs and the next generation of Ballard fuel cell products.
Working in Stack Test Engineering will give the student numerous opportunities to see the fuel cell product development life cycle firsthand and obtain hands-on experience operating fuel cells through a variety of tests.
Responsibilities :
The students will be responsible for :
- Assembling membrane electrode assembly (MEA) and plates into fuel cell stacks
- Conducting fuel cell stack characterization and diagnostic testing
- Running durability tests to evaluate degradation rates and failure modes
- Analyzing and presenting test results
- Troubleshooting test station issues

Key skills include :
- Ability to work in the lab, be very "hands on"
- Data analysis using Excel and data presentation
- Strong oral and written communication ability
- Basic understanding of fuel cell operation is an asset
