About the Opportunity
The Senior Financial Analyst, Budget and Forecast Consolidation, will play a critical role in supporting the Manager and Director of Finance in developing and maintaining the Nova Scotia Health’s financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial modeling.
This position is essential in driving insights that support Nova Scotia Health’s mission, values, and commitment to high-quality, provincially integrated health services.
The Senior Financial Analyst will work closely with other team members, operational leaders, and stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis in alignment with organizational priorities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate in the preparation and maintenance of the annual operating budget. Assist with designing budget models, gathering data, and ensuring timely distribution of budget information to operational units and stakeholders.
- Support the monthly consolidation of financial forecasts by preparing and analyzing data models, developing, and maintaining tools, and conducting quality and accuracy checks on forecast results.
- Work with the Manager, Director and Nova Scotia Health leaders to develop multi-year operating forecasts, contributing insights that inform annual business planning and operational priorities.
- Manage large data sets to support forecasting and budgeting processes. Develop reports and provide insights into budget variances, staffing, and other financial drivers.
- Participate in initiatives to enhance financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Identify opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency in data modeling and analysis.
- Liaise with finance leaders and other departments to gather necessary data, clarify budget assumptions, and address budget-related inquiries.
Support the Budget Manager in providing financial guidance aligned with strategic goals.
This position utilizes a hybrid workplace model that combines working from home with working onsite. The Successful Candidate can live and work from anywhere in the province, with travel required only as necessary.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following :
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field required
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or forecasting required
- An accounting designation (CPA) or working towards one (preferred)
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and modeling.
- Strong analytical skills and experience managing large data sets with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to diverse audiences and influence decision-making.
- A collaborative mindset and experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Benefits
$37.61 - $47.01 Hourly
