Our leading real estate client is seeking a dynamic and energetic Operations Supervisor to join their team in Ottawa. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader with a strong background in facilities management who is skilled at overseeing property operations and maintenance.
Responsibilities :
- Monitor building operations, performing regular equipment and area inspections.
- Supervise and direct contracted service providers to ensure tasks meet contract standards.
- Ensure best practices in maintaining curtain walls, structural components, and roofing.
- Oversee preventative maintenance programs for building systems to extend equipment lifespan.
- Obtain quotes and recommend repairs, managing maintenance within budget and capital spending.
- Conduct regular inspections of all property operations to ensure optimal conditions.
- Maintain positive relationships with tenants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Coordinate tenant and landlord work to comply with building codes and specifications.
- Respond to 24-hour emergencies and escalate as needed.
- Participate in health and safety programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Over 5 years of experience in building operations, ideally within retail environments.
- Proficient in managing mechanical and electrical building systems.
- Familiar with building systems and preventative maintenance practices.
- Skilled in using hand tools and performing basic plumbing and electrical repairs.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
