Work environment
We are a dynamic team responsible to maintain 3 full flight simulators (FFS) used by Transport Canada (C550 and C90A) and the Canadian Coast Guard (Bell 412EPI or Bell 429).
We have a wide range of simulator technologies, so there is always something to learn and repair. We are a small team of 7 members supported by knowledgeable instructors that work closely with us to ensure the FFS are representative of their aircrafts.
We rotate through two shifts 7 : 00-15 : 00 and 14 : 30 22 : 30 - flexible to adjust depending on personal needs and operational requirements.

Intent of the process
The results of this process will initially be used to staff one position on an indeterminate basis. This branch has positions that are English essential and Bilingual Imperative BBB / BBB.
We strongly encourage bilingual candidates to apply as there could be a need for them to be bilingual for future promotion.
A pool of candidates may be created to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles (English Essential, Bilingual Imperative BBB / BBB or CBC / CBC), various tenures (temporary or permanent) and / or various security clearance requirements (reliability or secret) depending on the position at Transport Canada.

EDUCATION
ED1 : A secondary school diploma AND a completion of an acceptable training in electronics technology OR an acceptable combination of education, training and / or experience.
NOTE : Normally, an acceptable training program in electronics technology involves the completion of two to three years of post-secondary study in this subject.
EXPERIENCE
EX1 : Experience in troubleshooting hardware and / or software systems.
EX2 : Minimum 5 years experience working with full flight simulators.
KNOWLEDGE
K1 : Knowledge of analogue and digital electronic theory.
K2 : Knowledge of computer systems operation, maintenance and troubleshooting including hardware and software structures.
K3 : Knowledge in the use of modern test equipment.
ABILITIES
A1 : Ability to troubleshoot systems to identify deficiencies in the simulator software or hardware.
A2 : Ability to analyze and synthesize information, identify options and exercise judgment in order to determine the best solution.
A3 : Ability to supervise a work team and / or flight simulator contractors.
A4 : Ability to communicate effectively.
