- Ensure CPAC adheres to federal labour standards as outlined in the Canada Labour Code Part Ill.
- Under the direction of CPAC Senior Management, develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization .
- Provide managers and employees with mentoring and coaching assistance in employee training, performance management and conflict resolution.
- Conduct and identify annual training needs and prepare training recommendations for all staff.
- Manage health and safety programs, ensuring all Canada Labour Code regulations are followed, including training and reporting requirements.
- Assist managers with succession planning for all positions, identify potential candidates and develop a training and development plan.
- Develop job descriptions for current and new hires, ensuring that key competencies and duties are identified and expressed in clear, concise language.
- Manage recruitment of new talent, including drafting job postings, identifying recruitment industry relevant mechanisms, screening candidates and sitting on interview boards.
- Oversee onboarding and orientation of all new employees .
- Ensure CPAC's compliance with the Canada Labour Code regulations, including coordinating with consultants or industry experts on employment legislation and implementation of new requirements.
- Revise corporate job descriptions when required.
- Ensure departmental and corporate objectives are met.
- Oversee and maintain company compensation and benefits administration, ensuring total compensation design is linked with strategic direction.
- Manage all payroll and benefits administration and prepare, update, and recommend new human resource policies and procedures.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the HR database and human resources files which includes ensuring all employee leaves are calculated correctly and annual leave updated in accordance with CPAC policies.
- In consultation with Senior Management, assist in the development, implementation and administration of HR policies and procedures, including updating the employee manual with any regulatory or policy changes, and assessing performance evaluation processes to ensure best practices are being followed.
- Ensure the safe retention of personnel records.
- Orient, supervise and discipline direct reports.
- Conduct annual performance reviews of staff under his / her supervision.
- Administer bi-weekly payroll for contract employees.
