THE COMPANY
Our client, a dynamic firm specializing in working with architecture and design, is currently seeking a Senior Architect / Studio / Team lead to oversee the day to day operations for a small studio within this larger firm, and to be an integral part of the company's leadership team.
This firm is well established with a diverse portfolio of work across Eastern Canada. This position would suit a talented professional with an architectural background and a good knowledge of buildings to step into the role of building a team of talented professionals and continuing this firms success working on a range of projects including some commercial, mixed use, high rise and other projects.
THE JOB
In this role you will manage staffing levels of a small but growing team in Toronto as this firm grows this particular division, and be involved giving input into proposals and nurture existing client relationships.
You will be involved in some business development, review project work, project delivery and schedules. You will also review operation budget, financials and strategy, and work with senior leadership to ensure studio profitability.
You will also provide leadership, direction and mentorship to staff and perform administrative, recruitment and similar duties.
This is a dynamic role with changing responsibilities based on a diverse range of projects.
WHAT'S REQUIRED
- A minimum of 12+ years' experience in the industry with at least 6+ years working in more of a supervisory role (must have managed / mentored a team previously)
- Related post-secondary education in architecture
- Possess solid experience and working knowledge with the national building code, by laws etc.
- Registration with an architectural provincial association is strongly preferred
- Experience working with a variety of project types such as commercial, mixed-use and high rise projects
- Prior experience in project management, project delivery, client management and staff management / leadership is required
- Strong project management abilities, able to work with financials, budgets and scheduling
- Knowledge in buildings engineering is desirable
- Strong coordination sand organisational kills
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
