JOB SUMMARY

Picks copper off moving conveyor and providing relief in other areas within General Scrap. Must have reliable transportation to and from work site as job site not accessible by transit.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keeps work area clean and ready to go daily
• Providing relief to other areas within general scrap operations
• Keeps conveyor pulleys clean
• Picks copper and plastic to ensure that quality material is shipped to our customers
• Assists in meeting monthly production goals
• Maintain constant and clear communication with the office, gate security and operators controlling traffic in and out of unloading area
• Direct customers to appropriate unloading areas (when acting as a load inspector)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Completion of High School and / or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Ability to push, pull and lift materials up to 50 lbs.
• Standing for up to 8 hours, regular walking, squatting and climbing
• Ability to learn and follow direction
• Mechanically inclined
• Self-motivated : Initiates and takes action before being required to do so
• Strong work ethic : uses time efficiently, work safely and making sure everyone around him are working safely
• Strong command of the English language both written and spoken
