Electrical Engineer

Location : Mississauga, ON

Hours : Monday- Friday 9 : 00 am-5 : 00 pm

TDG Transit Design Group is seeking an organized individual with strong attention to detail to design intricate embedded hardware PCBs.

Qualified candidates will have 10-15 years of electronic design experience.

General Duties

  • Design of Electronic circuits
  • Validate design concept with simulation software
  • Capture schematic
  • Layout PCB assembly
  • Build prototype PCBs using PCB milling / routing equipment to validate hardware
  • Analyze and troubleshoot analog circuits
  • Write software programs for microcontrollers
  • Manage, troubleshoot EMI qualification tests
  • Maintain documentation pertaining to PCBs and software
  • International travel to various TDG and customer sites may be required

Required Experience

  • Industry experience in electronic design and engineering
  • Proficiency with computer aided design software (Altium preferred)
  • Proficiency with spice simulation software
  • SMPS design
  • Excellent understanding of PCB layout techniques
  • Design experience with microcontrollers
  • Excellent communications skills. Ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • 10 to 15 years of relevant experience.

Desired Experience

  • Proficiency with Altium Designer
  • Proficiency with Solidworks
  • LED circuit design experience
  • Ethernet hardware experience
  • Familiarity with Ethernet protocols

Education

  • University degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent post-secondary education
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and member in good standing or eligible to register as a member of PEO;
