We are hiring a full time Survey / CAD Technologist. This position offers an exciting blend of field and office work, perfect for those who enjoy variety in their day-to-day.
You'll gain valuable hands-on construction experience working outdoors in the field, while also contributing in the office by assisting with 3D duct modeling.

Fieldwork responsibilities include accurately laying out all survey points on the construction site, securing precast anchors, and performing comprehensive survey layout tasks for the company.
This work incorporates HVAC hanger points and duct penetration locations from CAD designs to the job site. Office responsibilities involve assisting in creating AutoCAD 3D models of HVAC systems, including the application of BIM.

Hourly Wage : $25 - $35 / hour depending on experience / education

Qualifications :
Civil or Mechanical or Geospatial Engineering Technologist Diploma OR equivalent education
Must have experience with Autodesk software (AutoCAD, REVIT)
Excellent written and verbal communication
Proficient with Excel, Word, and data entry
Experience using robotic survey equipment is an asset
Experience working in commercial construction is an asset

Has a strong desire to maintain accuracy despite a variable chaotic environment
Scope of Responsibilities :
60% of the time, you will be in the field surveying construction sites
40% of the work will be in the office using AutoCAD
Responsibilities for Surveying :
Accurately layout all survey points for the company in the construction field and hammer down precast anchors at points
Work outdoors regularly while ensuring accurate layout in a variable work environment
Effectively communicate with our foreman and other trades on the job site
Troubleshoot and overcome equipment irregularities when necessary
Responsibilities for CAD
Assist with drawing 3D duct models
Translate mechanical drawings and specifications into technical deliverables,
Communicate with the site foreman to confirm the drawing quality properly reflects the field reality
Understand the construction of duct fittings and develop a strong understanding of HVAC design
