Our client, A global leader in industrial manufacturing solutions requires a Technical Sales and Applications Specialist within the GTA territory.
DESCRIPTION
The Sales and Applications Specialist is responsible for sales achievement for the sales territory within the Greater Toronto Area, for a world leader in precision measurement.
This position requires significant travel within the sales territory for on-site customer visits. Sales and Applications Specialists would require a home office space with occasional travel required to our Mississauga headquarters for Canada.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and present presentations to corporate level customers introducing new technologies
- Develop and maintain relationships with key contacts at both distribution and end user level
- Promote sale of company products at both distribution and end user levels
- Follow up on customer requirements regarding repair or applications
- Significant travel required to customer locations with occasional travel required to HQ in Mississauga and Illinois
- Introduce and promote new products to industry
- Ability to perform product demonstrations for customers
- Participate in team meetings to discuss market strategies within assigned territory
- Work with the team to develop a coordinated effort utilizing strengths of all members to reach goals
- Develop lists and target accounts within the region to focus sales efforts related to capital goods
- Maintain database of sales opportunities on a weekly basis regarding current and future activity
- Enforce the sales policy
- Train distribution sales staff
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to travel within sales territory
- Excellent organizational skills and presentation skills.
- Technical background an asset
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Background in metrology or measurement systems would be an asset
- Background in manufacturing is a strong asset
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications
- Valid driver’s license of any Canadian province and ownership of vehicle in good working order required; available credit for car rentals and hotel reservations required.
- All travel expenses paid for by the company per the expense policy.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
- A post-secondary education in electrical or mechanical engineering, quality assurance or metrology or related fields would be an asset (But not required if combined with industry related experience)
- Proven background in a Direct Sales or in a Sales Support role with a minimum of 3 years’ experience
