Be a part of a one of a kind provincially legislated program that aims to provide access to high speed internet to all residents of Ontario over the next few years!
THE PROJECT MANAGER (PM) WILL :
- Act as the Client’s liaison to engage Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to plan, permit and execute joint-use broadband projects on the Client’s Infrastructure.
- Be responsible for the oversight of one large ISP or an aggregate of smaller ISPs to enable the ISP(s) to move their broadband projects from project inception through to permit closeout.
- Assist both the Project Management Lead and Program Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of the Program and assist in the development and strengthening of the strategic partnership with the Client.
- Manage the workload of projects specific to an ISP(s) and delegate program or project specific work to Intermediate and Junior Project Managers as required.
- Work in conjunction with the Construction Manager to deliver construction project safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, subcontractors, suppliers, proposals, estimates, documentation turnover, relations / management, field staff and other duties required to execute Construction Management, Construction, and Program Management projects.
The Project Manager will, direct and coordinate all aspects of work related to broadband Joint-Use projects, will report directly to the Lead Project Manager and will be responsible the successful completion of projects within specified dates, and establishing and maintaining a professional and satisfactory relationship with the Client, the ISP(s), subcontractors, regulatory agencies and other project stakeholders.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE :
- Develop contractor scope of work’ by compiling information provided by Client’s distribution lead.
- Issue RFQ / RFP for Client’s EPC providers.
- Provide Administration of RFQ / RFP including (as required) site meetings, clarifications, tender and close out.
- Act as the Owner’s Agent, providing PM services for the execution of work associated with the Client’s approved joint use applications.
- Review permit submissions from ISPs to facilitate bundling of work.
- Complete cost sharing calculations and facilitate invoicing processes.
- Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control project costs.
- Assist with internal project financials, staffing, legal coordination, risk management, change management, and human resource issues.
- Serve as primary point of contact with regarding efforts such as coordination, strategic planning, master scope management, budget finances, subcontracting, project staffing, environmental compliance, facility support and schedule attainment.
- Manage all aspects of project communication.
- Develop and implement project policies and procedures, establish project controls systems and implement the project execution plan.
- Work closely with the Project Team to ensure deliverables and services are being provided to ’s satisfaction and that projects are following internal QA / QC guidelines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- 6-12 years of project management experience.
- Experience in Power, Utilities, Energy, Infrastructure, Oil & Gas Projects.
- Experience managing multiple projects from conception to completion.
- Easy going personality and excellent client and stakeholder management skills.
- Fast paced - multiple projects with strict timelines experience.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional Engineering (P. Eng) registration preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
