Summary :
The successful candidate will keep production running by acquiring goods and services needed to satisfy the manufacturing department goals, while keeping shortages and inventory (volume and cost) as low as possible.
The Buyer will expedite goods delivery when necessary and negotiate while maintaining a positive relationship with vendors.
Also, the Buyer will find new and alternative suppliers for existing and new components and prepare reports for senior buyers.
The candidate will work from our Head Office in Vaughan, ON.
Key Responsibilities :
- Acquire goods and services to satisfy the inventory needs of the manufacturing department while keeping shortages and inventory as low as possible.
- Reduce part cost while improving quality and delivery times.
- Expedite goods delivery when necessary.
- Negotiate while maintaining a positive relationships with vendors.
- Find new and alternative suppliers for existing and new components.
- Execute on MRP plan on Purchase Orders
Requirements and Skills :
- University, College, or Technical Post-Secondary education,
- Degree in Business, Engineering or related field is preferred
- 1 to 3 years of purchasing goods experience.
- Experience with AX or D365 systems is an asset.
- Experience negotiating with suppliers.
- Superior analytical skills and ability to develop recommendations and strategic solutions from data / information.
- Well organized and able to balance multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
- Need to have high sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing needs.
