POSITION SUMMARY : New Flyer is excited to invite driven and skilled engineering co-op students to join our team as Junior Designers within our Production Engineering department.

We are looking for students specializing in mechanical or electrical engineering, ideally with a strong technical foundation and familiarity with relevant equipment or software.

In these roles, you will be responsible for executing design tasks that support production. Tasks range in this role from ensuring timely project completion by coordinating schedules, considering vendor and production lead times, and configuring orders for buses and coaches.

Designs are developed to meet customer specifications, adhere to design criteria and regulations, and align with manufacturing capabilities, while ensuring that bills of materials (BoM) are intact.

You will also provide technical support and resolve production engineering issues (SWAT / ECR) and maintain documentation in accordance with engineering procedures.

Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL :

We are seeking candidates enrolled in a recognized mechanical or electrical engineering program, available for a co-op placement.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills essential for effective teamwork. They should be adaptable and well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines and supporting organizational goals.

Previous manufacturing experience is a strong asset, as is proficiency in MS Office. Familiarity with Unigraphics or similar design software is also beneficial.
