59 - $51.28 / hour Position Summary : School Based Rehabilitation Services (SBRS) provides occupational therapy, speech therapy and physiotherapy to students in publically-funded schools from kindergarten to school exit.
SBRS clinicians consult with the school team to enable student participation in the school curriculum and school based activities.
Key Responsibilities : Initial assessments, reassessments, goal setting and consultation to the school team and treatment when appropriate.
Working collaboratively with the team to determine a service delivery plan for each student Equipment prescription through the Special Education Amount (SEA) program.
Documentation of care. Liaising with the school team and parents to book appointments. Providing a Tiered Model of Service in elementary and middle schools.
Consultation to families / caregivers in the home environment for students with complex physical needs regarding accessibility and equipment.
- Qualifications : Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized university; Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO);
- Experience with school age clients is an asset; Experience providing service delivery within a Tiered Model of Service is an asset;
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management proficiency; An ability to display a high level of initiative;
Bilingualism in French and English is an asset; Current C.P.R. and First Aid; Travel is a requirement for these roles; Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle.
