Mechanical design engineers / designers perform a wide range of duties to design equipment from concept to detailed drawings and ensure cost-effective quality.
Some of their primary duties and responsibilities include :
- Bachelor's degree / diploma in mechanical engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanical designer.
- Proficiency in design software-Inventor 3D.
- Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and fabrication process.
- Deep understanding and application of pneumatics, hydraulic, electrical components and systems.
- Experience in piping design to be a definite advantage.
- Experience with plastic extrusion machinery or web-handling equipment or die design to be a definite asset.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative.
