The Technical Sales Manager plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between DFI’s products and services and our client’s needs.
As a Technical Sales Manager, you will be responsible for engaging existing and potential new customers, building and maintaining meaningful connections, and fostering relationships from concept through to project completion.
The Technical Sales Manager will focus on generating profitable sales and growth within assigned industries(s) / markets.
The Technical Sales Manager will lead efforts in the pursuit of strategic opportunities, sharing market insights and knowledge and leading the commercialization of opportunities.
Job Duties
- Perform and coordinate technical sales activities in assigned industry / territory, including new client acquisition.
- Facilitate virtual and in-person lunch and learn presentations.
- Identify opportunities and coordinate and facilitate customer meetings to understand the customer's challenges, expectations, and needs for future projects.
- Participate in client-focused strategies, bidding and quotes, and action plan development that address client needs and concerns.
- Attend and participate in project hand-off calls between the pursuit and construction teams for awarded projects. Ensure accurate transfer of contract specifications and owner expectations.
- Improve win rates by formulating lessons learned by conducting post-project meetings with clients, project management and other key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the business development teams to identify opportunities for pursuit.
- Assist in identifying potential strategic partnerships.
- Attend and participate in industry trade shows, conferences, and other networking opportunity events.
- Developing and implementing growth strategy within a territory by meeting or exceeding sales objectives.
- Focus on market intelligence for industry developments and the competitive landscape.
- Maintain and update account and opportunity data in the CRM software program.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to new and existing external and internal customers.
- Prepare piling take-offs and present sales proposals internally and externally.
- Influence, negotiate and close sales.
- Follow up with existing customers to maintain business relationships.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to meet budget targets.
- Track and report on the status of proposals.
- Resolve conflict and provide customer advocacy.
Qualifications
- A self-motivated, results-driven, creative team player with the innate ability to build relationships.
- Proven track record in business and sales growth.
- Ability to travel within Canada, United States, and other international locales.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft’s suite of products.
- Understanding of construction procurement models.
