Unifin International, in London, Ontario, is a business unit within Wabtec Corporation’s Components division. Originally founded in the 1920’s, Unifin International is an electric equipment-cooling company, focused on the power generation and transmission markets.
Our primary business is within North America, but it reaches worldwide from legacy fossil fuel and nuclear plants, to growing renewable energy power grids.
Who will you be working with?
As a member of the team at Unifin International, you will be responsible for leading our production team of 31 skilled workers.
You will be working with one other production supervisor to meet our commitments to our important customers. You will coordinate activities with other departments, which will result in achieving a high-quality product with minimal process downtime.

What do we want to know about you?
A minimum of five years’ experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing production environment with demonstrated leadership skills strongly preferred.
Project management experience will help in this role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with your team members.
- Possess knowledge of working procedures and techniques utilized in a custom fabrication environment.
- Demonstrate good administrative, customer-service, problem-solving and co-ordination skills.
- Possess knowledge of Industry 4.0, Solid Works, PLC and controls, Fiber Laser equipment nesting software, CNC programming and tooling, metal fabrication, painting and various pressure testing.
- Strong technical and troubleshooting ability.
- Knowledge and implementation of LEAN techniques.
- Able to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter; able to work in a highly-demanding role.
- Excellent attention to detail; excellent organizational skills with attention to task prioritization.

What will your typical day look like?
- Work with cross-functional team to accomplish goals.
- Understand, follow, and enforce all established EH&S, quality, company policies, and procedures.
- Review job packages to ensure all job requirements are met.
- Review In-Process Inspection cards and ensure they are signed off by the team.
- Responsible for traceability and identification of materials throughout manufacturing.
- Assign resources to each job, to ensure monthly targets are met.
- Issue NCR’s for any manufacturing issues and ensure completion prior to shipment.
- Labor reporting.
- Issue and implement Corrective Actions for trending NCR’s or customer concerns.
- Responsible for employee training, training matrix and records.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given.
- Support and lead root-cause investigations.
The successful candidate will be required to work on-site, with no hybrid time working from home (40-hour on-site workweek 8-hour days), with overtime when needed.
