Job description :
The Academic Lead is responsible for providing leadership in the planning, development, and management of academic programs.
The role includes working closely with faculty, students, and administration to ensure the highest quality of education.
This position will be responsible for managing teaching staff, promoting faculty excellence, and fostering a student-centered learning environment aligned with Edison College’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of academic programs.
- Ensure curriculum meets regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and industry needs.
- Oversee course scheduling, faculty assignments, and student academic progress.
- Provide mentorship, support, and professional development opportunities for faculty members.
- Conduct evaluations and feedback sessions to promote teaching excellence.
- Ensure consistency in program delivery and adherence to academic regulations.
- Encourage and support faculty research, innovation, and collaboration.
- Promote a supportive academic environment that enhances student learning and retention.
- Work with academic advisors to monitor student performance and intervene when necessary.
- Address student concerns related to academic performance or course content.
- Ensure all academic programs comply with accreditation standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accreditation processes and requirements.
- Organize educational events such as orientations, graduations, and outreach activities.
- Lead the preparation and submission of accreditation reports and reviews.
- Stay current with educational trends and technology to improve teaching and learning methods.
- Participate in the development and implementation of academic policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to institutional policies related to academic standards, grading, and faculty responsibilities.
- Act as a liaison between academic departments, administration, and external partners.
- Assist in the development and management of the academic department budget.
- Oversee resource allocation, including faculty, materials, and technology.
