Banquet Manager

The Banquet Manager is responsible for supervising, directing and coordinating the daily activities and operations of Fantasyland Hotel’s 25,000 square feet of high volume banqueting space.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Planning, organizing, and evaluating the daily operations of Fantasyland Hotel’s Banquet department to ensure a quality dining experience is presented to our guests.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality expectations and services standards along with identifying, developing, and implementing new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Ensuring consistency and the highest level of service by training and developing staff, managing, co-coordinating, and scheduling the activities of the Banquet team.
  • Acting as a liaison with Banquet clients to ensure the proper and smooth operations of all banquet and conference events.
  • Developing supervisors and banquet captains, coordinating performance of Banquet staff and assisting in scheduling.
  • Preparing invoices and billing for banquet functions while adhering to all division and local standard and procedures.
  • Preparing annual budgets, employing cost controls, managing labor costs, and capital expenses.
  • Responsible for liquor and food inventories and managing the liquor storeroom and stock.

Desired Qualifications :

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Banquet industry in a management-based position with a hotel property or in a high end catering environment.
  • Post-secondary education in hospitality management, business management or completion of industry related training is an asset.
  • Previous experience overseeing large operational teams and large scale banquet function planning complemented by an extremely professional demeanor with a strong working knowledge of quality serving practices, procedures, and standards.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively deal with changing customer needs and demands while remaining calm and professional at all times.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, computer, and organizational skills with the ability to work in fast-paced, progressive environment are highly preferred.
