About the workplace
Vancity’s Network will be optimally architected and integrated to fully align to technology, project and business requirements.
As a Network Analyst, you play a key role supporting day to day member business, ensuring network security and stability, providing solutions to strategic business initiatives.
This is full-time, temporary (6-month) contract role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office.
This role involves regular visits to various branch locations to support and maintain network infrastructure.
The Network Analyst will be periodically on-call to address urgent network issues and ensure continuous system performance.
The team : In this role, you will report into Manager Network Technologies.
A typical day would involve :
Provide technical expertise for system design, administration, operation, & configuration for Vancity’s infrastructure.
Optimize current technology, provide trend analysis, and manage technology lifecycle within the practicing area of VC’s networking platforms.
Plan and execute network technology with organizational operating methodologies. Ensure highly stable and secure network infrastructure to meet service level goals.
Build cross-functional relationships to develop & implement network solutions.
- Design, develop, document, and maintain foundational network platforms (Wide Area, campus, disaster recovery, contact center, cloud, security and wireless) that provide solutions to meet day to day business needs, support increasing security demands, and improve the user experience.
- Provide second level technology support to the IT Service Desk so that Service Level Goals and IT standards are met.
- Conduct and consolidate detailed qualitative / quantitative analysis for business and technology applications. Recommend optimized, cost effective, secure designs supporting business and technology challenges.
- Manage and prioritize work order queue, consult with internal teams and vendors ensuring effective and efficient organizational support.
Committed continuous improvements through technical trend analysis, proactive problem identification, and lifecycle management.
Resolve IT work orders in accordance with established standards (GTA) so that it is timely and business needs are met.

You have :
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience in core network infrastructure and related technology, Switching, Routing, Voice, Load Balancers and Cloud.
- Experience in security and related technology (VPN, Firewalls, best practices).
- Basic knowledge of Windows infrastructure (DNS, AD, DHCP).
- Basic knowledge of virtualization.
- Knowledge of physical infrastructure (such as device racking, cabling, data center best practices etc.).
- Successful completion of Cisco CCNP.
- Valid driver’s license.
Bonus points, if you have :
Cisco CCIE.

The salary range for the role is $64,500 to $96,500 and a candidate’s offer is likely to be up to the mid-point of the role ($80,500) .
The upper half of the salary range is typically reserved for individuals who have demonstrated consistent strong performance in the role and possess a high level of job knowledge and skill.
