Sr User Experience Designer

Hybrid work in Toronto (1-3 times a month, work from office)

Looking for a User Experience Designer with a passion for crafting elegant, scalable solutions for complex problems, who’s ignited by the opportunity to grow their career with a global team of design professionals.

In this role, you will leverage your design and research expertise to develop core functionalities for our product. You will create impactful solutions that address our customers' most critical design and manufacturing challenges.

We’re looking for designers who are excited by the prospect of untangling complex problems and requirements, then rationalizing them into simple, elegant solutions.

Your role will involve understanding the needs of both end users and internal product teams, distilling and clarifying those needs, and creating solutions that follow our UX strategy to both delight customers and meet business objectives and deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of related professional user experience design experience, with work samples that clearly demonstrate skills, craft, and experience in true customer-facing product delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Interaction design, or equivalent work experience.
• Solid understanding of design systems, design patterns and reusable components.
• Demonstrated ability to visualize and prototype intended solutions at various levels of fidelity, from high-level wireframes or mock-ups to conceptual presentations to technical documents and diagrams.
• Good communicator and storyteller, able to explain technical topics to a non-technical audience.

Responsibilities

• Communicate designs through low- and high-fidelity UI mockups, written and diagrammatic documentation, and prototypes for testing, validation and production.
• Present design work in UX review sessions and broader stakeholder presentations, taking constructive feedback and applying that further design iterations.
• Address backlogs of design debt by identifying and prioritizing areas for improvement, ensuring that design standards are maintained.
• Ensure application space parity by assessing and aligning functionalities across the product, providing a consistent and seamless user experience.
• Elevate the product's professional feel by refining visual and interaction design elements, ensuring a polished and cohesive aesthetic across the product.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience of building a design system or contributing to a design system.
• Experience designing for applications spanning desktop, web & mobile experiences for SaaS, cloud-based software.
• Experience working in large and / or distributed organizations.
• Experience in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering and / or Electronics Engineering fields.
• Experience with CAD software
