Reporting to : Director ofEngineering

Your role in themission :

We areseeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to provideconceptual preliminary and final design of systems and componentsfor our fusion stellarators including Project Infinity and ourFPP.

Project Infinity is a medium scalestellarator that will demonstrate the performance of a highlyoptimized stellarator magnetic field configuration as well as theviability of high temperature superconducting stellarator magnetsto produce that field configuration.

Followingsuccessful design fabrication and operation of Project InfinityType One Energy will begin construction of a Fusion Pilot Plant(FPP).

This plant will demonstrate production of electrical powerin the 100 MW range with a closed fuel cycle.

Asa Mechanical Design Engineer you will work closely with a team ofhighly skilled Engineers and Scientists to help in our mission topower the world with clean fusionenergy

• Translatedesign requirements into functional stellarator components andsystems.
• Develop system and component designsand associated technical specifications for our stellaratorsystems.
• Participate in design reviews andprovide technical guidance.
• Work closely withelectrical manufacturing and other engineering teams to ensureseamless integration of mechanical components.
• Conduct feasibility studies and perform mechanicalanalyses to ensure design integrity.
• Analyzeand align the interface requirements between and among stellaratorsystems.

Whatyoull need :

• Experience with design of first of a kindcomponents.
• Familiarity withComputer Aided Design and Analysis software
• Experience with design of fusion energysystems and equipment is desirable
• Experience with Siemens NX CAD software ishighly desirable.
• Experienceoperating within a PDM environment inCAD
