BIMM is booming, so we're looking for two Directors of Engineering to join our team!

Who we're looking for

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Director of Engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a track record of successfully managing software development teams.

Reporting to the VP Technology, the Director of Engineering, will be responsible for overseeing the technical planning, execution, and delivery of all software development projects.

You will play a crucial role in driving technical strategy, fostering a culture of high performance amongst our development group, and ensuring our engineering capabilities align with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of software engineers while promoting a collaborative, inclusive, and positive work environment.
• Develop and implement technical strategies in line with company objectives.
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software solutions, ensuring quality, performance, and reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and learning.
• Interface with client partners to understand their needs, provide technical insights, and establish strong relationships.
• Participate in key decisions as a member of the senior leadership team.
• You will build and lead impactful engineering teams by motivating your team and leading by example to continuously innovate, improve and think differently
• You will deliver outstanding results for our customers and are a role model for other engineers. Create a shared vision and build and maintain strong partnerships with Product Management, Ops, Security, Research, Client Success and Business development teams
• Responsible for entire software development process

Requirements

At least 8+ years of hands-on Software Development experience in at least one of the following technologies : JavaScript / Typescript, React, Node etc.

building full-stack applications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• You have demonstrated success building highly scalable APIs / backend platforms / distributed systems / data access layers, complex frontend applications
• Led engineering teams of 10+ including people managers
• Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web and app technologies.
• Proven track record of managing and scaling engineering teams.
• Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to make sound and timely decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Proficient understanding of current industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Experience with Agile development
• A bias towards action and make decisions quickly after considering opposing viewpoints
• Successfully recruited strong teammates
• Flourish with autonomy and responsibility
