Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities.

Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

The Associate Director, Total Rewards plays a vital role in furthering the vision, mission, values, and objectives of Canadian Blood Services by leading the design, planning, implementation, and administration of Total Rewards policies (including executive compensation) and programs that support the overall talent management strategy.

Reporting to the Director of Talent Programs, the Associate Director, Total Rewards will oversee an overarching system comprised of compensation, benefits, and pension, as well as the development, improvement, monitoring, and evaluation of corporate Total Rewards programs that support corporate strategy and objectives.

The successful candidate will recognize the essential role that Total Rewards plays in the delivery of the intended employee experience and will contribute to a positive work environment where employees feel valued and recognized for their contributions.

They will be a progressive leader with a future oriented mindset who champions the implementation of best-practices and drives transformational change.

Technical and strategic at the same time, the incumbent will manage a staff of three, and provide services that impact all of Canadian Blood Services’ non-unionized staff (approximately 1500 employees) coast to coast.
