The Opportunity Reporting to the Manager, Facilities Management, we are looking for a Maintenance Service Worker to join the Facilities team.
This role is responsible for operations and maintenance activities and delivery of services to support campus wide initiatives.
This position supports academic and non-academic functions and events by providing general service support.This is a part time opportunity for SAIT students who will continue to be students until the end of March 2025.
The Role
- Provides labour for event set-up and teardown services.
- Supports academic initiatives through various tasks including convocation set-up, yearly and periodic room inventory and inspections, maintaining public and service areas, and ensuring timely delivery of educational materials to various areas as required
- Provides labor for office and furniture moves
- Picks up Schools and Departments equipment and electronic disposals
- Provides labor for collection and transport of hazardous waste
- Loads, offloads, and transports material and equipment for academic and non-academic departments
- Assesses damage to furniture
- Perform other duties related to operations, committee, special projects, and team building
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 Diploma or a combination of applicable education and experience
- Must be an active SAIT student for duration of contract
- Class 5 Drivers License
- Forklift Operator Certificate, or willingness to obtain
- Current TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods ) Certificate, or willingness to obtain
- Trained in First Aid, CPR, and WHMIS, or willingness to obtain
- Experience with an Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) or similar software is highly desirable
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple work requests efficiently
