Job description

Overview

At Colliers Project Leaders, we deliver capital project solutions to fulfill our clients’ needs across the built environment. The work we do makes a difference in communities and for the people who live there. We have a passion for it.

Our commitment to realizing our clients' vision inspires us to look beyond the immediate – to the possibilities of what we can achieve together. We are 18,000 projects and counting – improving lives and helping shape the growth of sustainable, progressive and inclusive communities.

Your role

Join us as a Team Lead on our Alberta team. This role can be based out of anywhere in Alberta.

You’re at the forefront of leading the growth and diversification of our business. You’re not just a leader, but a catalyst for building business. Your mission? Partnering with us to foster an environment where business grows, and people are empowered!

You inspire and motivate your team members to take charge of their projects by delegating work and nurturing their professional growth. This includes ensuring quality, managing finances and fostering a culture of belonging and empowerment.

As a key member of our team, you play a pivotal role in making a lasting impact on the communities we serve. Our team delivers projects that improve the quality of life in communities across Canada by providing access to essential services such as housing, education, and healthcare.

Our approach goes beyond the project to the people – who are the heart of it all.

Responsibilities

  • Champion and personify our values and culture
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of developing and executing growth plans that lead to annual business growth
  • Oversee your business unit’s operational objectives, including quality, commercial / financial, people, and culture
  • Drive collaboration, identify opportunities and develop innovative strategies to expand services in the local market to achieve annual growth targets
  • Collaborate with leaders from other business units to secure new opportunities and optimize resource allocation
  • Lead with enthusiasm, delegate and empower teams
  • Coach your team’s business development acumen
  • Work with all team members to develop and obtain the necessary qualifications, training, and experience to achieve their professional growth
  • Participate and present a unified company voice within the local business community, through networking, and active participation to help grow the business and recruit the best talent

Qualifications

  • A strong desire to grow the business presence in the local market and meet company growth targets.
  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in operations leadership and business unit growth, preferably in professional services
  • A university degree or diploma in business administration, commerce, finance, engineering, architecture, construction management, or comparable degree (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)
  • Clear understanding of a professional services business model, including workforce composition and resource management strategies, risk management strategies, and commercial strategies
  • A network of industry contacts and relationships within the region as well as involvement with applicable regional industry and trade associations
  • Ability to provide leadership, inspiration, guidance, and management support to a team of practitioners, as they define their career goals, develop their skills, and serve our clients
  • Ability to meet or exceed financial business objectives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation and presentation skills
  • The ability to project and maintain a positive outlook, demonstrate an energetic disposition, and mentor teams to achieve business growth ambitions
  • Demonstrated experience working respectfully in cross-cultural settings, including building, and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities considered an asset
  • Don’t have every single qualification?

We know that some people are less likely to apply for a job unless they are a perfect match. At Colliers Project Leaders, we’re not looking for “perfect matches.” We’re looking to welcome people to our diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace. So, if you’re excited about this role but don’t have every single qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway. Whether it’s this role or another one, you may be just the right candidate.

    What you can expect :

  • An opportunity to truly impact our communities
  • A flexible work environment
  • A comprehensive onboarding experience
  • Significant professional development, training, and a mentorship program
  • A paid volunteer day

  • An environment where people feel welcome, heard and included, regardless of their differences
  • And much more!
  • Join our team of difference-makers and help shape the growth of dynamic communities.
