As an Environmental Advisor on Pomerleau's environmental team, you will be primarily responsible for the execution of environmental requirements on construction sites located in central Quebec, and more specifically in Bécancour, for large-scale building and infrastructure construction projects - ranging from $ million to over $1 billion.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with project management teams and also to ensure the environmental compliance of site activities, the development and implementation of environmental management plans, and the implementation and maintenance of Pomerleau's Environmental Management System .
What you will do
- Be present on site(s) and ensure continuous environmental monitoring;
- Develop environmental plans and programs and ensure their implementation by supporting site teams and carrying out on-site activities.
- Provide environmental consulting to project team(s) (Construction Project Manager and their on-site team);
- Work in close collaboration with the Corporate EMS Coordinator for the implementation and execution of Pomerleau's EMS-related activities on the construction site(s);
- Maintain environmental performance indicators (non-conformances, spills, residual materials, best practices, etc.);
- Complete environmental monitoring reports on a weekly basis.
- Support site teams in the event of environmental incidents : intervention, reporting, analysis, corrective and preventive measures.
- Develop environmental plans and programs to be implemented on worksites and in compliance with requirements ( management of demolition materials and construction residues, management of residual hazardous materials, water work, erosion control, management of contaminated soils, water quality monitoring, etc.);
This role could be for you if you have
- University degree in environment, sustainable development, engineering, geology or similar field.
- 3+ years experience as an environmental technician or consultant.
- Experience on a construction site or in an industrial field.
- Good knowledge of the environmental issues and impacts that a construction project may face.
- General knowledge of provincial and municipal environmental regulations.
- Fluency in both official languages written and oral (English and French).
- You must have a valid driver's license and a vehicle to move around on the various sites.
