What is the opportunity?

We are looking for a Senior Relationship Manager, Retail Financial Services to join our Automotive Finance team. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining profitable relationships with dealers, while contributing to the achievement of individual and collective team goals.

Your main mission will be to:

  • Effectively managing customer relationships by adopting relationship management practices focused on meeting dealers' retail financing needs.
  • Offer strategic advice to meet client expectations and build long-lasting, mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Build relationships with local partners and stakeholders to maximize business opportunities and referrals.

Your success will be based on your ability to create value for dealers while aligning their goals with RBC's, contributing to the team's growth and profitability.

What will you do?

  • Manage dealers in the territory and recommend targeted sales and market strategies, including product and pricing activities, with the goal of meeting or exceeding sales targets and increasing RBC's market share.
  • Proactively provide advice and information to dealers to help them maximize profitability with RBC products.
  • Stay abreast of trends and developments in the indirect finance sector by interacting with competitors, attending conferences, consulting trade publications, and interacting with peers and partners.
  • Maintain strong relationships with dealers through visits, sales calls, and frequent interactions with internal and external partners.
  • Regularly monitor competitor pricing to adjust strategies as needed.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction by taking responsibility for resolving issues from the first point of contact.
  • Represent RBC at dealer events and events as required.
  • Provide dealers with key information on RBC policies, programs and updates to ensure strategic alignment.

Work and Travel:

This position is in hybrid mode, combining work on the road and from a home office. Frequent daily travel is required to fulfill the responsibilities of the role. Travel may include remote areas and overnight stays.

Target Territory: Quebec City Region, Lower St. Lawrence, Gaspésie, and Saguenay. Please note: The assigned territory may be subject to change to support organizational needs.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Three to five years of experience in account management, business development or sales, with a proven track record of success.
  • Knowledge of the operations, sales processes and needs of automotive, RV and boat dealerships.
  • In-depth knowledge of the credit approval process, including assessment criteria and associated procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and exploit business opportunities to drive growth and maximize revenues.
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite with the ability to use these tools to analyze data, create presentations and manage documents. Will also need to use RBC digital tools to support data analysis.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients and do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English and French speaking needs.
